Rug Cleaning in Lake Mary
Collection and delivery in Lake Mary are included. We take the rug back to the workshop, wash it properly, and bring it home.
What Lake Mary is built from
Seminole County on the I-4 corridor about nineteen miles north-east of downtown Orlando. Corporate office parks along Lake Mary Boulevard, and behind them gated golf and lakefront communities built from the mid-1980s onward; Heathrow next door was founded in 1985 and now holds the national headquarters of the AAA. Slab houses, large rooms, tile and stone through the living space.
Executive and corporate households, many of them relocated for work and travelling constantly, plus retirees in the gated communities. These houses stand empty far more often than they look like they do.
The Lake Mary problem
The coast has the seasonal empty house; this corridor has a quieter version of the same thing that runs all year round. A household away four days out of ten, or gone for a fortnight at a time, leaves a thermostat set back to eighty or a smart schedule holding an away temperature, and the effect on a rug is the same as closing a house for a season, just repeated fifty times a year. With no cooling load the air conditioner barely runs, and it only pulls water out of the air while the compressor is actually turning, so indoor humidity climbs into the sixties and seventies within a day and simply stays there. Wool takes up close to a third of its weight in water before it feels damp to the hand, so none of this is noticeable until the smell arrives — and by then the growth is down in the cotton foundation rather than on the surface, which is why a deodoriser buys about a week. The fix is dull and effective: run a humidistat rather than only a thermostat, and have the rugs cleaned before the long trip rather than after it.
If that sounds like your rug, send the form and describe what you are seeing. We will tell you whether it needs the full treatment or not.
