Rug Cleaning in Thornton Park
Collection and delivery in Thornton Park are included. We take the rug back to the workshop, wash it properly, and bring it home.
What Thornton Park is built from
One block east of Lake Eola on brick streets between Summerlin and Hyer, with 1920s bungalows and small historic houses packed onto small lots and a row of restaurants and bars along East Washington Street. Downtown starts at the end of the block.
Owners and renters in roughly equal measure, a lot of entertaining, and small rooms in which a single rug covers most of the floor and absorbs all of the traffic rather than sharing it with three others.
The Thornton Park problem
Rugs here take a beating that has very little to do with climate and a great deal to do with the address. A bungalow room is small, so one rug carries the entire circulation pattern of the house and the wear concentrates into a lane you can pick out from the doorway. Brick-street dust and downtown grit come in on shoes constantly, and in a compressed room there is nowhere for any of it to spread out to. Then there is water. This is low ground beside Lake Eola, which is a sinkhole lake with no river to carry a sudden volume of rainfall away, and storm drainage in a hundred-year-old street grid was not laid for what a Central Florida afternoon now delivers — several inches in an hour is an ordinary summer storm here, and the city's lakes came up over their banks when Ian stalled over the county in September 2022. Water that reaches a rug that way has crossed a street and a yard first, so it is a decontamination job rather than a drying one.
If that sounds like your rug, send the form and describe what you are seeing. We will tell you whether it needs the full treatment or not.
